Athletic Director NEEDED

Currently St. Paul Athletics is looking for someone to serve as Athletic Director. Jeff Adams, who has done a wonderful job, is giving up the position at the end of this year. I have very much enjoyed working with Jeff. There have been several announcements in the church bulletin requesting individuals who may be interested to contact Jeff.

From 1994 to 1998 I served as Athletic Director taking over from a legend, Jim Cochran, who served for over 25 years as AD. I would have continued this service but I took the position of Principal of Holy Cross High School.

Based on my experience I felt this was absolutely the best way to show my stewardship for the school and parish and relished the experience. I have many fond memories of working with the Sports Committee and built lasting relationships in our parish community.

My hope is that someone with a passion for sports and our school and parish will seriously consider this opportunity. Please think about it, pray on it and contact Jeff (502-817-5061) if you are interested.

Dare to Care Collections

St. Paul will be taking up Dare to Care collections again this year from November 12-16th. Families wishing to donate can give their donations to their students to take in, drop them off at a box in church or give them to Mr. Stephenson either before school in the cafeteria or after school in the gym. The most needed items this year are: Peanut Butter, Canned Soup, Canned Fruit, Beans, Rice, Tuna, Cereal, Fruit Juice, Pasta, and Canned Vegetables. There will be boxes in every classroom, the cafeteria, gym and at the back of church. This has been a rough year for a lot of people, let's help make it a little better!

SCHOOL PICTURES

Retake day for School Pictures will be Wednesday, November 14th. Be sure to send your picture envelope with RETAKE written on it. Contact Mrs. Cochran in our office by note or phone (935-85511) and let her know what students will be having the school picture retaken.

If you child was absent on Picture Day contact the office for a Picture Envelope. Call the office with any questions we will be glad to help.

Annual Christmas Play

The time has come to begin planning for our annual Christmas play which is presented on Christmas Eve at the 6:30 Children’s Mass. I will be directing and need to know who wants to be a part of this meaningful ministry for St. Paul Church.

In the process of choosing a play, it is important to know how many students are participating. Please discuss this with your child or children and if they are interested, respond by Monday, Oct. 29. I will then have a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 1 after school for those students (and parents, if you wish to attend).

Practices will more than likely be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 until 4:15. If your child plays a sport and their practice time conflicts with the play practices, I would encourage them to continue with the sport. It’s not fair to either activity to attend part of the time. If the sports practice is after play practice, then I welcome all who are interested.

Please contact me by e-mail or note to indicate if your child is interested.

Prospective Parent Referrals - February Open House

We can never underestimate the power of referrals and the testimonials our own children and parents provide for the school. This is much better than any yard sign, building sign, letter or anything else we can do.

I encourage all parents to continue to provide testimonials and encouragement to prospective families about checking out St. Paul for their children's education. It really does make a difference and hopefully we will have a huge turn out at our Open House February 12, 2012. Be sure to let others know about this Open House at that we provide individual tours daily, by appointment. Just call the school office for an appointment.
