iPlan Days

A few reminders and adjustments for iPlan days!!

  • Please make sure PLC groups are collaborating and sharing materials, activities, and technology applications (This should be what the time is for after completing the Unit Protocol.)

  • MITCrew will be making rounds through classrooms to assist with tech questions/needs, and Brittany G. will be making rounds in Elem. Math PLCs

  • Last Hour of Day can be used for: (Kinder - may be last 2 hours)

    • Meeting by campus teams (whole grade level team -OR- ELAR w/SS and Math w/Science)

    • Move to another content/course PLC

    • Working on daily lesson plans

  • ALL levels order of the day:

    • Unit Protocols

    • Collaboration of activities, materials, and resources, including tech apps

    • Campus Team Planning OR daily lesson planning OR move to another course PLC

  • Teachers, please bring all resources that you may need to the iPlan today to be able to adequately plan.

Golden Nuggets from the Counselor

I am looking forward to getting into a rhythm with referrals, guidance, paperwork. ALL of it!! Many thanks for your patience as I am trying to figure out the process.

As you all know we have Red Ribbon Week the last full week of October. We will have an assembly with the NED show at 1:30 on Monday October 23rd. This will be our guidance for the month of October. I will not ask you to give up any other time, but if you need me to come and cover any specific topics as needed for you classroom please let me know.


The NED Show!!

The NED show is coming to Baxter. Mark you calendars- Monday October 23rd at 1:30. This is a whole school assembly. This is also the beginning of Red Ribbon Week.

Baxter's Hub- Nancy Robertson, Library Media Specialist

This week in the library...

We had our first Maker Monday this week. Students got to come down with their class to use the maker space activities such as building with cardboard, legos, marble run, building with cups and so much more! The fourth graders also came to the library to create Blackout Poetry. Students used pages from recycled books and created free verse poetry by blacking out the words that they did not use.

A Quick Note from Nurse Martin

Cold and Flu season is upon us. Be sure your kids are washing their hands and keeping their fingers away from their eyes, nose, and mouth. Be sure to cover coughs and sneezes using their elbows. Reminder that students must be fever free for 24 hours prior to returning to school. Here is a link for exclusions from school
