A Note from Mrs. Miller
We are also finishing up our middle of the year assessments, which is always exciting to see the growth of our students! NWEA growth reports were discussed with students in grades 3-5 in class, and sent home last week. Students analyzed their scores and discussed their growth and possible areas to focus. mClass reports will be going home when testing is completed in the coming weeks. I am very proud of the dedication of all of our teachers to ensure that all of our students grow, and the hard work of our students!
Dream. Learn. Achieve.
Morning Drop Off~ IMPORTANT
Also, we ask that you follow the flow that we use for parent pick up when dropping you children off in the morning. You enter at the Campbell entrance, then form 2 lines which merges to on as you come around the Bullseye Lake Road entrance. You can let your children out when you reach the sidewalk. It is extremely important that you yield to the buses. The purpose of this is to eliminate children walking through the parking lot and in between buses. The majority of buses unload at 8:30 and are gone by 8:35. If you are dropping your child off It might be best to plan to be at school at 8:35. Thank you for your cooperation. This is a work in progress and one that we will be monitoring and making adjustments as needed.
If there are any parents who enjoy making stage decorations, please email me ar email@example.com. I am looking for a few parents who could work on making a few decorations for our April 5th music program at the high school.

Our amazing team:
Hypertonic. Hypotonic. Isotonic. Those words may bring up fond (or not so fond) memories for a lot of us. But for the 2016 Cooks Corners Science Bowl team, those words helped students earn 16th in the ISAP Elementary Science bowl competition! Students worked together to study 7th grade Life Science standards and complete an experiment about osmosis. The competition was held Wednesday, January 27 at Cooks Corners. Students competed in three rounds. During the team round, students earned a perfect score! Congrats to all of our competitors!

Each elementary school will offer two identical meetings for roundup. Please choose the one that best fits your schedule. Children, who are entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2016, and their parents, must make arrangements to attend one of these sessions. During the meeting, all students will be given an assessment.
Kindergarten Round-Up for Cooks Corners Elementary is:
Friday, April 15, 2016 from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. or 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Prior to roundup, complete registration information online at www.valpo.k12.in.us, select the PARENTS tab; then select Kindergarten Registration; and, then select Cooks Corners Elementary. Complete all information and submit. You will also be able to see the list of items that are required to be presented at Kindergarten Round-Up.
