Gulf Elementary School 2019-2020
September 20, 2019
Our school year has started off with a bang and we are up and rolling. The first few weeks, students have been taught school wide expectations, participated in their first House Meeting, and began building classroom communities. Students and teachers have worked hard in completing beginning of the year Reading and Math assessments, so we can begin to differentiate and tailor instruction to whole and small groups.
This year we are excited to introduce the Houses of Gulf. We can already feel how it is changing our school community. The House of Gulf gives students a support system that will last. Unlike a class that changes from year to year, this group of students and teachers will stay together for the duration of their time at Gulf Elementary. This stability and strong support system, helps students feel safe, feel supported and feel as if they are part of a larger team. All of these benefits will help students feel more connected at school and in turn increase engagement and academic achievement.
Lastly, our annual Fall Festival is right around the corner, October 18! Our parent group and teachers have been working hard to make this an exciting night for the whole family. Grade levels will be accepting donations for their silent auction baskets! We appreciate your continued support making us the Greatest School on Earth!
