Principal's Weekly Update
February 17th, 2024
An already shortened week featured our second snow day of the year-- this now extends the school year to Tuesday, June 11th. I'm sure many of our students enjoyed the chance to sleep in and then to play in the snow. Perhaps some of you are planning to do some skiing during this 4 day weekend for some further winter time fun.
Of course this past week also featured Valentine's Day. You will see several pictures below which demonstrate the myriad ways in which our Panthers marked the occasion. I ask you to pay particular attention to the enlarged photo at the bottom-- a bulletin board currently displays hearts which honor each and every staff member. Our KARE club members wrote notes of gratitude to show the staff some love during the month of February. It is very much appreciated.
You will also a picture of the "Madison Loves..." bulletin board outside of the Learning Commons. There were some diverse answers to the question, but at the same time there was one response which was by far the most common. At one point, Ms. Dwyer wrote to the faculty "we love our doggies, but please encourage students to NOT use "I LOVE MY DOG" as I have 15 of those already. There was a part of me that wanted to provide my own heart cut out which said "I LOVE MY OTHER DOG" (since I happen to have 2). I somehow decided that would not help Ms. Dwyer with her dilemma.
