Your Baby
A healthy baby starts from their mother's womb. Staying away from unhealthy choices and start being healthy will be the best thing you have ever done for your baby.
Eating Healthy
expecting mothers need 300-500 extra calories a day including extra protein. Prenatal malnutrition may have long-range effects. What an expectant mother eat is very important. So start eating healthy. if you are unsure, set an appt. with a dietician.
Check ups
Once you know you are expecting, it is best to set an appointment with your Doctor. Your Doctor will help you to start taking care of your baby and keeping them healthy. If you have any questions or problems about your unborn baby, please ask your Doctor.
Moderate excercise
Moderate and regular exercise is beneficial for pregnant women and does not seem to endanger the fetus. Regular exercise prevents constipation and help respiration, circulation, muscle tone, and skin elasticity and an easier delivery.
Classes
childbirth classes are design to prepare you and your partner for labor and delivery. It is a great way to learn about the different stages you will be enduring during labor. It also gives you an opportunity to ask any questions and concerns to your trained childbirth instructor.
Vitamins
Mothers that take dietary supplements during pregnancy tend to have bigger, healthier, more active and visually alert infants. Ask your doctor about your prenatal vitamins or get it at your local pharmacy.
Baby's growth
there are three trimesters during a pregnancy.
First trimester- 1-13 weeks of pregnancy. you're body is going through a lot of changes, it may cause morning sickness, fatigue, and constipation.
Second trimester- 13-27 weeks, your baby will be four times as big as it was in the first 13 weeks. good time to invest in maternity clothing, and time to announce to friends and family on your good news.
Third trimester- 28 weeks to birth, you will be seeing your doctor more frequently. Your Doctor will determine your baby's position and check your cervix to monitor and get you prepared for childbirth.
Bonding
Childbirth is a major transition. Now is the time where both parents may bond with their baby. Baby's need love and attention, both parents and baby will have a lifetime of memories and lots more love.
Breastfeeding
Breast milk is the best nutrition a mother can give her baby. Talk to your Doctor or nurse to learn more about breastfeeding.
