Our students will be transported by Mr. Stutzman and they should wear Rayder Gear during the day and dress in their concert uniform at night! We will be hosting the 2nd annual Charlevoix County wide middle school massed band on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Bands will attend from East Jordan, Ellsworth, Boyne City, and Charlevoix! There will be over 150 middle school students on stage and they will be working with Dr. Tim Topolewski who will direct the groups! Each band will play one or two numbers and Dr. Tim will clinic them …. the individual performances will be followed by the bands meeting in mass and rehearsing numbers that have been pre arranged by the directors!
Jr. High Solo & Ensemble will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 …. students are rehearsing their music and will be ready to perform in Boyne City on the Saturday following our return from Spring Break!
Our spring concert will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. We would like to organize a band parent group that would form prior to this concert and begin making plans to welcome the new band director that will be hired prior to the end of the school year. I am planning to work with the new director and help mentor them into their position and be available to work side by side during the fall of next year!
Washington DC Registration
We have already reserved hotel rooms and purchased event tickets, so your student will be placed on a wait list until we determine whether there is space available to add students. I would hate to turn people away, so please let me know if you plan to register your student and I will alert our reservationist.
Other scheduled events include: a dinner cruise on the Potomac River, Mt. Vernon, the National Cathedral, the Newseum, the Air and Space Museum, and of course all the monuments and memorials. We are waiting to hear about a few more appointments and will let you know as they come in.
Track will start after Spring Break. Students must have a current physical on file to participate.
