Patterson Elementary
Parent Blast - May 9, 2022
We Appreciate You!
We will be celebrating all of our wonderful volunteers this week, with special recognition on Wednesday, May 11th, at our Booster Club meeting. We recognize that it has been challenging to volunteer during the pandemic and we are truly grateful for every support and act of service in support of our school and community. We will have a small token of our appreciation ready for each volunteer throughout the week and at our Booster Club meeting that evening. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Here to serve,
Jamie Lentz
Principal, Patterson Elementary

Pokemon Cards, Fidgets and Toys at School
Recently we have seen an uptick in toys, Pokemon cards and fidgets at school. We want to remind our students and families that cards and toys should remain at home and not come to school. Often these items are distracting in the classroom, get lost or stolen, or are traded when students do not yet have a clear understanding that items will not be returned. Please review this with your child and double check backpacks.
Fidgets are allowed for students who need them as a support for their learning. Typically these are documented in a formal support plan and students have a specified 1-2 items for this. If your child does not need a fidget to support their learning, we ask that they keep them at home.

Mrs. McClain Wins Patterson $7,000 Grant!
Huge shout-out to Stephanie McClain for her work on a $7,000 grant to put in a production studio. We plan to use the small group room at the end of the intermediate hallway and will be adding a green screen and sound-proofing in addition to the purchase of production equipment and software. This will initially be set up for our morning announcements crew, but eventually will open up to our whole school for use.

2022-2023 Class Placement
While we do not accept specific teacher requests, we do encourage parents to provide input in the form of an environmental input form (linked below). These are due on May 31st to be considered. Each grade level, along with our support specialists, will work together to place students into balanced classes. Please respect our teacher's time and focus on this year's classroom and students by not reaching out regarding placement in a specific class.
