Catawba Science Center Field Trip
Why April 18th?
April 18th is on a Saturday so it is not a required field trip, but it is recommended. The reason we are going on this particular date is because the Zometool bubble station demos will be there. The Zometool bubble station will help the students see how geometry affects real life. I have featured a link below if you would like to find out more about it.
Important Information
- Eat breakfast
- Arrive at school at 7:45 am
- Leave the school at 8:00 am

Zometool bubble
Enables bubbles to be made in not just spherical shapes but also rectangular, spiral, cubic, and parabolic-shaped.
Zometool
Students will able to build their own type of Zometool in anyway they like.
Bridges
Students will also learn how to build bridges with the Zometool.
Standards
Modeling
GM.1* Use geometric shapes, their measures, and their properties to describe real-world objects.
GM.2* Use geometry concepts and methods to model real-world situations and solve problems using a model.
