Dear Hawley Parents/Guardians, Staff and Teachers,

Buckle up, keep your hands and feet in the car at all times, and stay seated as you read on to find out What's Happening at Hawley .......
~ Be the "i" in KIND ~
Here's a few we caught and we'll keep looking!!!
~ 4th Grade School Concert ~
Our 4th Graders recently performed for the school. Their evening Winter Concert for parents is Monday, 12/9, 7:00 PM, Hawley Gym.
~ The Kindness Cart ~
Every classroom will receive a copy of and will be reading the book The Word Collector by Peter Reynolds. Using the Hawley Kindness Cart, children will become Word Collectors. They will search out words that have a positive affect on them and submit them. These words will be on display throughout the school. Students will also enjoy some hot cocoa while writing about how to make the world a better place.
PJ Day Kindness Fundraiser
On Friday, 12/13, we will have a Pajama Spirit Day. We ask that those wanting to participate, donate at least $1.00 to support Connecticut Children's Hospital. You can either send in the money that day or donate to Team "Hawley School" online. Click here for the online donation link.
Thank you for your support.
No Business Like Snow Business...
Brian Ballerini has been named the new Head Custodian of Hawley Elementary School. Mr. Ballerini has worked in the District for 11 years and his references were stellar. He will be a wonderful addition to the staff. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Ballerini to the Hawley Family.
- Progress Reports are now available on PowerSchool via the ParentPortal. Let us know if you have any difficulty accessing them or need a hard copy.
- If any family is in need of assistance this Holiday/Winter Season, please reach out to me or our school counselor, Mrs. Shapiro.
- With snow shoes or boots becoming the norm, please remember that sneakers are needed for students to participate in gym class.
