Graduation Specific Information
The Orlando Science 2019 8th Graduation will take place on Friday, May 24th, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport(9300 Jeff Fuqua Boulevard, Orlando Fl 32827) from 6:30-8:00 PM.
Parking: $4 Self Park/$7 Valet Park
8th Grade Orcas must arrive at the Hyatt between 5:15-5: 30 PM. Caps, gowns, and tassels must be worn upon arrival.
Proper Dress Code is required for ALL 8th Grade Orcas, please refer to the dress code information found below. As a reminder cap and gown decorations are NOT permitted.
Guests may arrive between 5:15-6: 30 PM and may begin seating at 5:30 PM, we ask that you limit only four(4) guests per student due to limited seating.
8th Grade Early Departure Information may be found below. Forms are due by 3 PM, Thursday, May 23rd, 2019. We ask that you please make sure that you are selecting the correct campus link when submitting items. Incorrect submissions will not be counted.
Graduation Dress Code Information
1) Be sure that you try on your cap and gown as soon as you get it. You will need to take your gown out of its package and hang it on a hanger to let the wrinkles fall out of it.
2) DO NOT DIRECTLY IRON THE GOWN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! It will ruin the fabric.
3) Full graduation attire is expected for those of you who intend to participate in Ceremony.
4) Tassels are worn on the RIGHT side of the cap during the ceremony.
5) Graduation Cap and Gown decorations are NOT permitted.
Ladies:
1) Dress-We suggest you wear a dark dress. The dress may not extend beneath the length/hem of the gown and should not shorter than knee level.
2) If you choose to wear hosiery under your dress, please be sure to wear hose that compliments your skin tone. No hosiery that is distracting will be permitted (pink, green, purple, etc.).
3) Shoes- We expect a dark dress shoe. The shoe must be secured to the back of your foot or heel by a strap. No extremely high heels.
4) Jewelry should be kept to a minimum. No facial piercings, please.
5) Your cap should be worn so that it sits flat on the top of your head, not on the back of your head.
6) No Gum.
Gentlemen:
1) You must wear a white dress shirt, a dark tie, dark dress pants, and dark dress shoes. Anything light such as grey or khaki is not acceptable. Jeans, tennis shoes, hunting boots, Sperries, Wallabies, sandals, bowling shoes, cowboy boots, hiking shoes, flip flops, etc. are not permitted.
2) Ties are a requirement for graduation. There is no exception to this requirement!
3) No obvious jewelry-earrings, necklaces, etc. NO facial piercings, please!
4) Your cap should be worn so that it sits flat on the top of your head, not on the back of your head
5) No Gum.
Please note that appropriate dress is required in order to participate in the graduation ceremony. Since graduation is not mandatory, we expect you to dress and behave in the appropriate manner, or you may be removed from the ceremony. Many people have worked extremely hard to make this event a dignified and memorable experience in order to celebrate your accomplishments. Please do not diminish anyone’s efforts by not dressing and behaving in the appropriate manner and please dress appropriately for the occasion.

IMPORTANT PARKING NOTE: Any Hyatt guest with E-pass / Sunpass should not enter through the E pass /Sunpass lanes. You must pick up a ticket and exit through regular manned booth lanes in order to receive the hotel parking rates. No refunds will be issued if the guest uses E-pass / Sunpass Lane to pay for parking.
Self Parking
DIRECTIONS:
Go to TERMINAL B at Orlando Int’l Airport and after taking a parking ticket from the gate machine, drive up and around the ramp to the THIRD level. Follow the BROWN sign to the Hyatt Terminal Top Parking. At row C, cross over the ramp and park on any level 4-10. Take ELEVATOR BANK B to LEVEL 4 to enter the hotel. To receive the discounted parking rate for your event do NOT use the e-pass lane.
COST:
Self-Parking is $4.00 per car-Parking Vouchers will be available at the event registration desk.
Valet Parking
Go to TERMINAL B at Orlando Int’l Airport and stay to the RIGHT side of the road. Follow the BROWN sign to the Hyatt Valet Parking. The entrance is on the LEFT side, IMMEDIATELY past the large fountain.
COST:
Valet parking is $7.00 per car-Parking Vouchers will be available at the event registration desk.
Overnight Parking
Valet Parking: Valet parking is available at $16.00 per day the night(s) you are a guest. $25.00 per day all additional nights.
Self-Parking: Self-Parking is available at $12.00 per day the night(s) you are a guest. $17.00 per day all additional nights.
Exit passes will be provided to overnight guests upon check-in to their guest rooms. All guests must use the exit passes upon leaving the garage or valet areas.
OVERSIZED/ELECTRIC & HYBRID CARDS
OVERSIZED VEHICLES
Parking for oversized vehicles is available in the Blue Satellite Parking lots and will no longer be accommodated in the surface parking lot adjacent to the Terminal B Garage Parking. Oversized vehicles include vehicles higher than 7'0" and/or longer than 20 feet in length.
ELECTRIC & HYBRID CARDS
Electric and Hybrid Cars-Twenty one parking stalls and nine charging stations are provided for electric and hybrid cars. They are located on level P2 in both the A Self-Parking and B Self-Parking garages of the Orlando International Airport

Hello 8th Grade Technology Drive HS Families,
Graduation for your students will take place on Friday, May 24th 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. We understand that this is typically a busy day for our 8th grade families as they prepare for graduation, so for May 24th only we will allow early departure from school. In order for ED to take place you must have form completed below by 3PM Thursday May 23rd 2018. We will not be accepting any responses after this date. If a response is not submitted your student will be picked up during our regular dismissal time frame.Please keep in mind students must be picked up from the dismissal area beginning from 12:00PM-12:30PM. Please note by signing your student up you are agreeing to pick them up in the dismissal area between 12:00 and 12:30pm if you do not pick your student up at this time you will have to wait until dismissal.No 8th grade student will be permitted to leave through the front office on this day.
