News From The Library Lady
March 2019
March Is A Lucky Month In the Nayatt Library!
The week of April 8th, Nayatt School will celebrate Reading Week! It is sure to be an exciting week. Look for more details as we get closer to the week.
Nayatt's Lucky News: Nayatt students will be reading the 2019 Latino Book Award Nominees. Thanks to a RILA partnership with Raising Readers in RI and the Pawtucket Public Library project, Nayatt Library has been generously given the collection of books that are nominated in the K-2 category. We will read all seven books that have been nominated and we will vote on our favorites in the library. The winner will be announced on May 31st, which is the culmination of Latino Books Month, initiated by Rhode Island Latino Arts and now in its sixth year in Rhode Island. The highlight will be a visit from Author Anika Denise whose book Planting Stories has been nominated! She is also a Nayatt Mom, so this makes the Nayatt community very proud.
A special thank you to the amazing Kate Lentz for connecting Nayatt to this wonderful project.
Happy Reading!
Warmly,
Mrs. Bertoncini
