This week in classrooms students are learning the routines and procedures to support Guided Reading. Guided Reading provides an opportunity for teachers to meet with small groups of students to target specific literacy skills at the student's instructional level. Teachers work with students in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension.
Students are also learning the literacy centers that they will rotate through during this time when they are not at small group.
We are so proud of how hard our students are working! We are setting up the year to make sure that all students are learning and we reach our campus goal of 100% of students making one year of academic growth.
