Fermi Questions
How long will it take to count to a million?
It would take approximately 270 hours, or 11.25 days to count to 1 million.
We found our answer by setting up a proportion in which we put 1 million over x and 50 over 48.6. 1 million stands for the goal number, x is for the amount of time it would take to count to 1 million, 50 is the number we counted to, and 48.6 was how long it took to count to 50. We multiplied 1 million by 48.6 then divided by 50 and concluded that it would take 270 hours, or 11.25 days to count all the way to 1 million!
