"A School of Excellence"

Principal's Message

We had another great week in the land of Tigers! As I visited classrooms and walked the halls, it was great to see the outstanding instructional practices all throughout the building. In particular, the differentiated instruction, group work and use of technology.

This week is American Education Week. During this week, we celebrate Public Education and honor educators for making a difference in ensuring that every child receives quality education. This year's theme is "Great Public Schools." On Tuesday, we are inviting parents to come in to our school and visit us. Parents will get to witness the wonderful things going on in all of the classrooms here at SMS. Please be sure that you have a lesson planned that will leave visitors in "awe" with the great things going on in your classroom.

As a yearly tradition, many parents will be at SMS on Thursday as well to enjoy the awesome "Thanksgiving lunch" with their child prepared by our very own Cafeteria Staff.

On Friday, Ms. Grooms and Ms. Tomlinson will induct our newest Beta Club members. The schedule will be abbreviated so that we can regain time lost in 1st-3rd this past week due to Career Day.

We will have Spirit Day this Friday. Faculty and Staff may wear Jeans with a Spaulding shirt or Spaulding colors.

Thanks for all that you do and I wish everyone a great week!
