Bell Let’s Talk Principal Message

When it comes to mental health, it’s important to support ourselves and each other. There are many actions big and small that we can do to improve our own mental health and the lives of people living with mental health issues. Know that it’s okay to ask for help if you are struggling. Remember that our teachers, counsellors and principals are here to listen and provide you with support!

In an effort to collect accurate student enrollment data for the 2023/2024 school year, we are asking all families to click on the following link, if you haven't already done so, and take a few minutes to complete our St.Thomas Aquinas Student Enrollment Intention Form - 2023/2024. Please ensure that you carefully consider your decision regarding your child’s enrollment for the 2023/2024 school year as your feedback will be instrumental in enabling us to plan the best possible programming for your child. Please complete this form prior to Friday, February 3, 2023.

Our Feast of St. Thomas Celebration will take place on Thursday, January 26th during Block 1 in the gym.

Thursday, January 26 - St. Joseph High School Discovery Days - Grade 9 students who are designated to attend St.Joseph High School (SJHS) next year will be travelling to SJHS to learn about High School Option Classes (1:00 - 3:00pm)

Friday, January 27 - Notre Dame High School Try a Trade - Grade 9 students who are designated to attend Notre Dame High School (ND) next year will be travelling to ND to learn about High School Option Classes (9:20 - 11:20am)

Ski & Snowboard Club is happening Thursday, January 26th this week. Equipment can be dropped off at the school.

There is no school on Monday, January 30th for students as staff participate in professional development.

The next Parent Council meeting will take place Tuesday, January 31st at 7:00pm in the foyer. All are welcome!

MADD Canada will be presenting to Grades 8 & 9 on Wednesday, February 1st.

2022-2023 School Fees of $40.00 are now due. Red Deer Catholic School Division has introduced a new online payment system, instructions to log in through your PowerSchool Parent Portal are on our website. Cash or cheque is still accepted in the office.

The Alberta Team Handball Federation is opening up registration for kids to learn the basics of the sport of Handball and play some games!

· Experience: Alberta Team Handball Federation’s Team Handball Try-It Day

· Date: Saturday, February 4th, 2023

· Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (9-11 skill development, 11-12 coaching clinic, 12-2 scrimmages)

· Ages: 10 to 16 years

· Genders: Open to all

· Cost: FREE

· Location: Hunting Hills High School

· Participants are to bring a water bottle and bagged lunch
