The Tiger Times
November 2021

From the Principal
Hello Mohawk Families!
It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us. This is a time of year when we reflect on the past year and are thankful for the things we have. I am thankful for being the principal of this amazing school! Working collaboratively, we make Mohawk a GREAT place to be!
Tuesday, November 2nd will be a professional learning day for teachers. Students will not have school. During this time, staff will be learning about ways to support the social emotional needs of our students. We will also be looking at the science of reading and how to best meet the needs of every learner. Each day, our teachers look for ways to grow and learn in order to bring the best educational strategies to our students.
We have numerous activities happening during the month of November such as the SchoolStore Fundraiser • Penny Wars • Canned Food Drive • Reading Road Trip • Stuff The Bus and many more so please check out the entire Smore!
Thank you to our Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) Representatives, Staci Doebler, Stephanie Green, and Robert DeBruyn for volunteering their time. These parents meet with superintendent, Ron Roberts, each month to discuss district issues and share ideas.
A special THANK YOU for all you do to support your child’s education ~ enjoy this season of Thanks & Giving with your family and friends.
Warmly,
Ms. Andrea Verellen
Principal

School Store Fundraiser
Here is all you need to do for our program to succeed
1. Scan the QR code (below) or go to schoolstore.net and sign up using our school ID:
154624
2. Send form emails inviting family, friends, and co-workers to support your student.
3. Return the envelope with the Student Prize Code for your child to get their really fun participation prize.
Here are three ways your family, friends and co-workers can help our school.
1. Make a100% tax deductible donation to your child's classroom with the purchase of a CaringForClassrooms.org gift card for your child's teacher to use for classroom supplies and equipment.
2. Shop online at The Family Book Store for wrapping paper, magazines, popcorn, cookbooks and more. We earn up to 50% of their purchase.
3. Shop online with over 400 major merchants like Walmart, Kohls, Best Buy, Disney, and more. We earn a small percentage of their purchase.
With a few minutes of your time, SchoolStore is the easiest and safest way for our teachers and school to earn money for materials to enhance your child's education.
