SLE WEEKLY UPDATE March 17, 2023
Be East!
Good Afternoon East Families,
We hope you had a great week!
Last night, the senior class hosted their annual "Clash of the Cougars" junior/senior men's volleyball fundraiser. Proceeds from the event help support initiatives sponsored by the senior class. Congratulations to the seniors on the win!
If you did not get a chance to attend our first annual Career Fair, it was a huge success! We had over 80 industry professionals in attendance that were able to answer questions posed by our students. It was a wonderful and exciting night where we were able to see our students talk about future interests post-secondary. Thank you to the SLE Career Club and Ms. Ann Couyoumjian, Career Facilitator and Career Club Advisor for putting on such a fantastic event!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Karen Fisher
SLE Principal
The competition was fierce; however, seniors won 3 games to 2!
Both teams played a great game!
Time Out: Time to discuss strategy!
There were several individuals from the fields of public safety and law including: a police deputy, a firefighter, MI State bomb squad, an attorney/county commissioner, and a community outreach specialist for the FBI.
Ms. Helen Atwell, Clinique Field Executive Education Manager at Clinique, discussed career opportunities within the industry.
The Alpena Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office discussed rehabilitation and fishery assistance at the Career Fair.
