Casa Mila
Barcelona, Spain
Antoni Gaudi
Gaudi was born in 1852 and was the son of a coppersmith. He went to the Provincial School of Architecture. Gaudí was hired in September to design Casa Mila, and on February 2 of 1905 the project was presented to the City Council and the work began. It was decided to demolish the existing building rather than reforming it. The building was completed in December 1910.
Style
The building's unconventional style made it the subject of much criticism. It had organic shape. Gaudi's style could be considered Cubism or Surrealism.
I think that Gaudi's work is very fun and intriguing. It strays from the normal to make an ordinary object something different. It made everyday life more interesting. His art and architecture was fantastic.
