The chapter 7 test is planned for Thursday, December 17th, a practice test will be posted next week.

Please check you child's powerschool grades frequently. We are nearing the end of the 9 weeks (shortly after winter break). Encourage your child to complete missing work.

Art - Mr. Winchester

7th Grade Art Rotation is working on a collaborative painting of our school in the style of a particular artist. These are due Friday.

7th Grade Art FOCUS is working on a surrealist watercolor painting. It was drawn based off of a collage using the grid transfer method, and they must use 6 or the 12 watercolor techniques to add color. Value will then be added using the pen techniques, which will then make this a mixed media project.

Drama - Mrs. Keenan

7th graders will be performing original news stories including weather forecasts, and writing portions for news live on location. Presentations to the class will be Thursday, December 10. Following the performances, we will reflect on the writing, rehearsing, and performance parts of the process.

Both classes will review Standard 3 for their test scheduled for Tuesday. This assessment covers Indicators 4-6 only. I've plannned a Kahoot game that covers all essential points covered in this standard. Their next unit of study focuses on how Imperialism affected the world during the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Nine Weeks tests for all social studies classes will be administered on Thursday, December 17th. This test is administered throughout the district on that date.

The students will begin reading The Christmas Carol. There will be a test on December 17.
Students should be reading at home every day. Statistics say that those who read have higher test scores.
