News for You!
We have had a wonderful start and that is the sign of a great school year.
Coffee with the Principal - We learned more about our Positive Behavior & Intervention Support (PBIS) system as well as our leveled reward system. Students can earn positive referrals by exhibiting the follow character traits - B (Bravery) R (Resilience) I (Integrity) G (Gratitude) H (Humility) T (Tolerance) BRIGHT! Over time they can become BRIGHT Stars, Elites & Ambassadors. We also shared the link to PBIS World http://www.pbisworld.com/ to help reinforce the character we would like to see.
Dismissal - The instructional day ends at 2:55 pm and we are finishing up dismissal by 3:08 pm each day. That's about 12 minutes! This process runs smoothly when we all do our part. Thank you for remaining in your cars during carpool, walking along the west side of the building if you are walking to pick up your children and having your pick up cards visible. Bright staff will always guide the dismissal process and we appreciate your kindness and cooperation.
If you need to change your child's dismissal plan, please try to do so in writing to your child's teacher no later than the morning of the day of the change. When this is not possible please call the main office at 469-633-2700 so that message can be communicated to your child's teacher. Due to safety, any dismissal changed made after 2 pm will not be honored.
Birthday Parties/Class Parties - Per Frisco ISD, elementary students may only bring items for distribution to classmates on the three (3) party days: Winter Party, Valentines, Day and the end of year celebration. In addition, students issuing invitations to individual birthday parties or other celebrations may only do so at the school if all students in the homeroom class are invited. These birthday invitations must be passed out at the end of the day with permission from the teacher.
Good Morning Bright - We will celebrate GMB every week on Fridays from 8:00 - 8:30 am. Students and staff will be highlighted for their accomplishments throughout the week. Beginning next Friday, September 9th, families are welcome to join us. Simply stop in the main office to have your license scanned and proceed to the cafeteria.
Lunch Visitors - We have had two weeks to practice procedures and expectations. If you would like to visit for lunch you are welcome to begin on Tuesday, September 6th. Be mindful that you are free to bring outside food for and have lunch with your child only.
