A Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The diocese has published the updated COVID-19 policies. You can find them below. The major difference is a change in mandatory quarantines, which we have already instituted. You will be notified if your child has been exposed at school. Parents will be given the option to choose distance learning for their child in these cases. We are still implementing all of the other safety procedures that we have had in place.

We are seeing a bit of an incline in positive cases this week, which is probably due to Thanksgiving gatherings. Please keep your child at home if he or she is exhibiting any signs of sickness. Siblings must also stay home if they have been exposed to anyone in the family, or if a family member is in the process of waiting for test results.

We are able to add a few elements to our play areas with our auction proceeds. Over the next few weeks we will be visiting classrooms to share pictures of the new playground and to let each student vote on their favorite “add-ons” (i.e. climbers, spinners, see-saws). We are thrilled that the students get a voice in what their play areas will include. In case you are wondering, the middle school students will also be asked for ideas to enhance their recreational areas as well.

Winterfest tickets will be sold in the Driveline on 12/8, 12/9, and 12/10. For your convenience, a table will be set up at the end of the Driveline. You will be able to pull up and quickly purchase your tickets. Tickets will be $6.00 each.

It looks like a couple of grade levels may be full shortly after registration this year. If you have a friend or family member who is considering sending their children to St. Pius X, you might encourage them to start the process early. They can schedule a tour with me via email, or they are welcome to call the school office (918) 627-5367. We will also have an Open House on January 30th from 11:30 – 1:30.

If you need additional Driveline tags, please email me at As I have mentioned before, the driveline process is much smoother if the tags are hanging and clearly visible. It slows us down even when you verbally tell us the number, especially in inclement weather. The tag must be visible from start to finish as several of us input the information so that we can place your child where he or she needs to be. We are happy to give you as many tags as you want or need.

Have a wonderful week!

Heidi McCoy

Welcome to St Pius X!

Weekly COVID-19 Update

If your child is directly impacted by a COVID-19 exposure at school, you will receive immediate notification and instructions.

We have seen an increase in cases reported in our school community this week following Halloween festivities. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we ask you to continue to take precautions such as masking indoors, social distancing, frequent handwashing, and staying home when sick. Widespread vaccination for COVID-19 is a critical tool to best protect everyone. The CDC recommends that all adults and children age 5 and older get a COVID-19 vaccine. With your help, we can continue to do our best to promote the health and well-being of our school community.

As of 12/3/2021:

·There have been 19 confirmed and probable positive cases since the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

·There have been 2 confirmed and probable positive cases reported since the previous advisory.

(A confirmed positive case is defined by meeting confirmatory laboratory evidence for COVID-19. A probable positive case is defined by meeting clinical criteria AND epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19.)

St. Pius X School is bound by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and cannot release any further details that could be used to identify individuals. We are committed to providing all necessary updates and notifications to keep community members safe and will continue to provide information to the level allowed by law.
