Nervous System
The nervous system is really the three systems in one. The uppermost nerves are located in the neck ,down the arm, into the hand. Spinal cord is connected to the brain. The nervous system runs throughout they whole body.
Diseases
Infections of the brain and spinal cord are used by a bacteria or virus. The most common serious problem with the nervous system is stroke. A person may have a stroke if the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off. Then the nerve cells in that area die. The person then may not be able to do the things that are controlled by the damaged area of the brain. Strokes are most common in older adults.
Main Functions
The nervous system controls important jobs inside your body, such as heartbeat, breathing, and digestion.
Spinal Cord
The spinal cord is a bundle of nerves that starts at the base of the brain to the lower back. It runs through the spinal canal and is protected by the bones of the spine. Messages between the brain and the nerves travel up and down the spinal cord. This makes it possible for the brain and body to communicate
