-Congress felt that the Supreme Court had overstepped its bounds, and feared it would do so again unless prohibited by the Constitution

-The Amendment limits the jurisdiction of the federal courts to automatically hear cases brought against a state by the citizens of another state.

-Adams and Jefferson had conflicts in office.

-Changed the way that we elect our president and vice-president.

-Slavery

-Banned slavery and forced labor.

-Slaves wanted to be seen as United States citizens.

-Guarantees due process and equal protection of the law.

-The current election process was corrupt and had too many bugs.

-Establishes the direct election of Senators.

-Alcohol led to other things such as gambling, prostitution, public drunkenness, etc.

-Prohibition of alcohol.

-Women had never had the right to vote, the 14th amendment only made things worse.

-It gave women the right to vote.

-The Lame Duck period was becoming a problem, it needed to be shortened. It became apparent in the case Marbury v. Madison

-Changed the beginning of Presidential and Congressional terms.

-Making alcohol illegal made US more dangerous than before when it was legalized.

-It made alcohol legal again.

-December 5th, 1933.

-Roosevelt won a third term but Congress wanted to make sure that Washington's two term preference became law.

-Established a two term limit for the president.

-Feb. 27th, 1951.

-The residents of D.C. had to do everything the states did, but they weren't allowed to vote.

-It gave residents of D.C. the right to vote in national elections.

-Mar. 29th, 1961.

-They didn't want black to vote so they issued the poll tax, then it got out of hand.

-Got rid of poll taxes in voting.

-Eisenhower and Nixon had a "no constitutional authority" agreement while Eisenhower was not well.

-Defines the succession of office of the President.

-Men were allowed to fight and die for their country at age 8 but not vote.

-Lowered the voting age to 18 years old.

-It was proposed in 1789 but was not touched for 80 years.
