Hurried Child Syndrome is when children are forced to grow up faster. They are not allowed to be kids and play. They are often stressed to grow up faster. Parents want them go be successful.
What Causes it?
Hurried Child Syndrome is caused by many things. It could be from parents, who want their kids to succeed, putting them in a lot of activities. They could be projecting their own childhood dreams onto their children. Another reason parents might be a cause is if they want their child to behave in public like an adult. It could also come from media. Media has a big impact on you child's life.
Signs of Hurried Child Syndrome
You child may have Hurried Child Syndrome if they:
- Are in too many activities.
- Are aggravated due to stress.
- Acting more grown up than they should.
- Lack concentration.
- Lack sleep.
- Cry easily.
What you can do!
What you can do to save them or prevent them for having Hurried Child Syndrome is simple. PLAY. Play with them. Let them know they are loved no matter who they are or what they do. That's all children want to hear. They will act like a grownup if they think they are pleasing you. They want you to happy with them. Another way is to not let them be in a ton of activities that they are stressed out. Give them time to be kids.
