The 4 Genertions of a Computer!!!
Imformation
What is the first genration of a computer? (1945 - 1955)
The first generation of a computer is a vacuum tube. The vacuum be is a device controlling electric current through a vacuum in a sealed container. The container is often thin transparent glass in a roughly cylindrical shape. Machine language was the only way to tell these machines to perform the operations. There was great difficulty to program these computers, and while processing the computer there was some problem in the way like the computer malfunctioning. First Generation computers used Vacuum tubes and magnetic drums (for data storage).
What is the second generation of a computer? (1955 - 1965)
The second generation of computers is called The Transistor Computer. The second computer was featured with boards filled with individual transistors and magnetic memory cores. In Second Generation computers, the instructions (program) could be stored inside the computer memory.
What is the Third Generation? (1965 - 1980)
The third genertaion of computers is called Integrate Circuit. The 3rd Generation Computers were generally much smaller in size than the 2nd and 1st generation of computers. The IC (Integrater Crcuit) is a single componenet contaning a number of transitors. The Intergreated Circuit(IC) was invented in 1958 by Jack Kilby.
What is the Fouth Generation? (1980 . . . )
The Fourth Generation of computers are called Tecnology Processor. Fourth Generation computers are the modern day computers. The Size started to go down with the improvement in the integerated circuits. The 4th generation of computers emerged with development of the VLSI. (Very large scale integration. They used thousands of integarted circuits and built one cilicon chip.
