Progress Reports due Tuesday, September 10.
I know we are still working on grades and Canvas and all of that, but keep our first progress report due date on your radar:
8:00 am on Tuesday, September 10.
Remember that you will post only one assignment in your gradebook for progress reports - "First three week progress report - September 9, 2018". You will only enter their average from Canvas, not each individual grade. You will do that in Canvas.
Also, please be sure that you have set up your gradebook percentages correctly in CANVAS:
• Daily = 20% - minimum of 9 required per 9 weeks
• Formative Assessment = 35% - minimum of 6 required per 9 weeks
• Major Grades = 45% - minimum of 3 required per 9 weeks
Let me know if you have any questions!
Mark your calendar - Activity Fair in the MAC on Wednesday and Thursday, 9/5 and 9/6!

Police presence on campus
Hopefully, you will be seeing an increase of police presence at LVHS. LVPD and Travis County Sheriff's Department have both reached out and offered to be on campus to have lunch, walk thr hallways, and even complete paperwork.
We have an office set up for them in the storage room across from the entrance to the office. If you see them, be sure to thank them for being here as an extra set of eyes and ears on campus!
the first pep rally is this friday. the band will dismiss by school song - when you hear it, you'll know to dismiss. this will be around 11:00 or so. do not dismiss before the signal!
Advisory/Homeroom Change Protocol
If you would like to make a change to a student in your advisory, you need to send an email requesting the change to Mrs. Huerta and include the teacher who is the current advisory teacher of the student.
That way everyone is in the loop.
If you don't do it this way, Mrs. Huerta will send the email back to you!
PLC this week!
Mark your calendar for Meet the Teacher Tailgate, September 28th. All teachers (including football coaches) will need to be in attendance from 5:00 - 6:00. There will be lawn games, food, and drink. Please make sure you are able to attend. Thanks!

Make sure you sign it (legibly) and then the students write their name on it and come to the reception desk to put their tickets in the bucket. Please do not send them during instructional time (I know...you wouldn't think of it)! Thanks!
