The Rules of Netiquette
Traffic needs rules to control some crazy drivers, such as internet needs rules to control some crazy users. First, never forget that the person reading your mail or posting is, indeed, a person, with feelings that can be hurt. Second, adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life. Third, respect other people's time and bandwidth.

Miscommunications
Miscommunication is defined as “lack of clear or adequate information”. In face-to-face interactions we can “hear” a statement and decide whether it is serious or sarcastic. Over the internet, without certain paralinguistic cues that make us aware of sarcasm, it can be difficult to differentiate between the two.
Flamewar
A flame war is a series of flame posts or messages in a thread that are considered derogatory in nature or are completely off-topic. Often these flames are posted for the sole purpose of offending or upsetting other users. The flame becomes a flame war when other users respond to the thread with their own flame message.
Emoticon (smiley)
