STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
Abbie Jin was recently named one of the top 30 videos in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge, a worldwide competition asking students to design and film a video explaining a challenging concept in math or science. In addition to receiving a $25,000.00 scholarship for college, the winner's school receives a $100,000 state-of-the-art science lab designed by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, and his or her nominated teacher also receives a $55,000 cash prize. Abbie's video addresses the process of producing a vaccine for the SARS-C0v-2, the virus that causes Covid19.
The competition is now in the Popular Vote phase, where the students whose videos receive the most number of likes, positive reactions, and shares on the Breakthrough Challenge's Facebook page by September 20 advance automatically to the final round. One like = one vote, and one share = one vote! Please consider supporting her success by visiting and voting for her video by liking and sharing it. This is an incomparable opportunity for Abbie and for Hamilton. Abbie's submitted video can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=306587827270412&extid=NuqM2k5kdinKUNcc.
In a time of uncertainty, it is heartening to know that there are brilliant, motivated young people in our own CUSD community working to make the world safer, healthier, and happier for all of us. Please spread the good news.
Show your support for Abbie by sharing this and voting.
