Headteacher's Message
Dear Families
Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who continues to work hard on our school musical, Footloose. The enthusiasm and talent displayed by our students is truly impressive and we are looking forward to seeing the finished show from 28 November - 1 December. Please see below to purchase your tickets for orange and blue cast performances.
This week, our Year 7s visited Hampton school to undertake a day of problem solving activities, while our Year 13 Biology students embarked on a field trip to Juniper Hall that provided them with practical insights into their coursework. Such experiences not only enhance academic understanding but also foster a love of learning. We appreciate the dedication of our staff in making these opportunities available to our students.
Our sporting teams have had a trio of victories this week. Congratulations to our U16 Girls Netball Team for wins against Hampton High and RTS, and to our U16 Boys Basketball team for their success against RPA in the Premier Borough League.
I am thrilled to share a significant development for Teddington School. Starting from September 2024, we will become a 'post 16 partner' with Brentford Football Club, making us the first school in Richmond to offer this unique programme. The partnership aims to provide education for footballers participating in the club's development pathway. Further details can be found on our website: Brentford Football Club - Teddington School.
In essence, students selected for the programme will need to meet our entry requirements and academic expectations. Currently, we are looking at approximately five places, and these will be initially available to Teddington students, encompassing both boys and girls. This collaboration presents an exciting opportunity for our students to combine their academic pursuits with a passion for football, fostering a holistic and well-rounded education.
Finally, we are delighted to share the accomplishment of our Year 11 Duke of Edinburgh cohort, who successfully completed their qualifying silver expedition from 3rd to 6th November. Despite challenging weather conditions, our students exhibited incredible determination, showcasing the resilience and spirit that are core values at Teddington School. We commend their efforts and congratulate them on this significant achievement.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Wishing you an enjoyable weekend.
Kind regards
Mr P Grills
