Room 8's First Ever Email Newsletter

Hope you will enjoy getting updates from this newsletter every month. In addition to our classroom website, newsletters are one way to showcase student work and share important events. I would love to hear your suggestions!

Parent Teacher Conference Week 9.21-25.15

If you signed up for an appointment at Back-to-School Night, a reminder notice will be sent home in the Wednesday folder this week. Unscheduled conferences are easy to arrange. On the request form in the Wednesday folder, simply circle three potential times when you are available and I will try to accommodate your top preference. If you would like a translator, let me know. Please remember that they do not stay after three o'clock. Looking forward to our visits together. Children will not attend school on Monday 9.21.15, and will be released at 12:10 during the remainder of the week.

All the Arts for All the Kids

"PBIS" Means Positive Behaviorlal Intervention and Supports

We strive to remember our behavior expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Really Safe, and Ready to Learn. All classmates recognize the need to "fill buckets" with good feelings and positive self-esteem. We frequently read stories where the protagonist learns or teaches others about what it means to be a good friend and citizen. Students are encouraged to communicate with each other and develop strategies to solve differences, should they occur. Our Gold Tags reward students in the classroom for many positive choices they make, and we also use the Blue Raccoon cards to reward students for being considerate role models.

Room 8 is Great!

Third grade is a dynamic stage in the life of a child! In Room 8 we promise to explore, wonder, and create, while always respecting our classmates and community.
