Our Worship Service - What to Expect
Our Sunday worship service is a 90 minute experience centered on the Word of God in every aspect. We believe that it is through the preaching of God’s Word that lives are changed.
Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” (NASB1985)
We were created to worship God. Everything we do is aimed toward that one purpose. Through music and singing, we reflect His glory, express our praise, and inspire His people. Our music can be described as “contemporary blended”. Crossroads is guitar-driven and we desire to lead the congregation to exalt Jesus Christ through all kinds of worship genres. We sing everything from hymns to the most modern worship songs.
We know people each put various degrees of thought and time toward planning a trip to a new church. We want to make sure your visit is stress-free, so here are answers to our top questions!
1. When do I show up?
Feel free to show-up a few minutes early and you will be greeted by our friendly Guest Services Team. If you have children who would like to participate in our children’s ministry, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the service you are attending.
2. What do I wear?
You’ll find that we’re pretty casual – shorts, jeans, t-shirts, slacks, dresses – it’s all good. You won’t find many suits and ties though, but if that’s what you’re comfortable wearing, go for it.
3. What about parking?
If you arrive while a service is still going on, you’ll find our parking lot fairly full. Never fear, though, we have reserved your place already! The entire row closest to the middle of our two main buildings is equipped with parking reserved for our first time visitors. We have handicap spaces along the front of the main building. If you have preschool kids, you may consider parking on the right side of our main building.
If you have any questions on arrival, our Guest Services Team will be here to assist you.
4. Where do I go once I arrive?
All of our worship services take place in our newest and largest building. If you would like some coffee, we offer free drip coffee at no cost. When you walk through the front doors, you’ll be greeted by a friendly team of volunteers. If you have kids that you’d like to register for children’s ministry, we have a check-in system inside the main doors of the Kids Worship Center and will gladly get your family registered in a matter of minutes.
5. Where do my kids go?
We take caring for your children extremely seriously. Taking a minute to give us some information right here on our website will enable us to quickly complete your family’s registration when you arrive and contribute to an amazing experience.
Visit our Children's Ministry for details: https://www.smore.com/cpv1a
NOTE: You are welcome to take your children into service with you, but we think they’ll have a great time in our Kids area if they are willing to try it.
We also have opportunities for older children. Our Youth Ministry offers a service specifically geared to Middle and High Schoolers on Wednesday nights in the Main Worship Center at 6:30pm.
6. What will happen during the service?
Perhaps you have not spent much time in a church before, we’d like to prepare you in advance so you understand the basics of what you will experience.
It is normally a 90 minute service that begins with a welcome video, moves to a personal welcome and announcement time, followed by singing. The main portion of our worship is devoted to the Sermon, followed by an opportunity to respond to what was heard. At the end of our service is an opportunity for our Regular Attenders and Members to give. Guests are welcome with no expectation to give.
7. Will I be singled out?
As a visitor you won’t be singled out in any way. You can remain completely anonymous if you want. But don’t be surprised if you can’t make it out the door without people greeting you and trying to make you feel welcome and at home.
8. Whoa, this place is big (ok, we know this is not a “question,” but it’s a frequent comment)
It’s true, Crossroads is a big place with a ton of stuff going on all the time. But the crazy thing is, it’s also one of the smallest churches you’ll ever attend. That’s true because of one thing: We do life together each week in small groups. While you’re here, please stop by our Guest Services desk in our foyer. There you’ll find our Guest Services Team who can answer your questions and help you find out all the ways to plug-in here at Crossroads.
