The Biggest Thank YOU....
We appreciate how hard all of our parents, grandparents, neighbors, friends, and students worked this week! Jumping into remote learning, re-opening school after five months(!), and navigating new technology has been a significant challenge.
Thank you so much for moving into this year shoulder-to-shoulder with us. We are working so very hard every day to make school the best it can be for your children, your family, and for each other. Please let us know how we can support you, communicate with you, and give you space to learn and grow, too.
Enjoy the weekend!
Lydia

Schoology: Parent V Student Accounts!
This is REALLY IMPORTANT -- Parents and students log into different Schoology URLs!
The accounts look very similar once logged in, but they are not.
Parents = app.schoology.com
- Please note, students will not be able to log in on this URL!
- Parents, you are viewing your student's account on a somewhat surface level here. You cannot submit assignments for your student from the parent portal!
Students = vail.schoology.com
- Please note, parents can not log in to their student's account!
- You do NOT need to create a student login; student's school accounts ARE school Google/Gmail accounts for students); those accounts are the ticket in for STUDENTS only.
- K-5 students cannot use the email function on their gmail accounts. The can use other tools in Google Drive such as Docs, Sheets, Slides for classwork.
Please reach out to your child's teacher or our Site Technology Coordinator Jennifer Porter (porterj@vailschooldistrict.org) if you need additional tech support.
Need Books?
Of course you do! And kids especially are missing out on the benefits of browsing through books and selecting their own reading material. To help support developing readers, the Pima County Library is assembling Book Bundles of 10 books for specific grade levels and reading interests. You can enjoy the books that interest you, ignore the ones that don't, and return any of the books whenever it suits you. You can request a Book Bundle at your favorite library branch and check it out with your library card.
And you can currently get a library card online! Visit https://www.library.pima.gov/getalibrarycard/ for more info.
School T-Shirts....
If you did not pick up your shirt last Sunday or share your address with Christina for delivery earlier this week, we have the remaining shirts in the school office. Our office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00am - 3:00pm.
If you do pick up from school, we expect all visitors to wear a mask on campus and follow physical distancing guidelines. THANK YOU.
Stay tuned -- our CPA will be organizing orders for additional shirts soon!

On Site Support Services....
On August 17, 2020 the Vail School District will start providing On-Site Support Services for students who will most benefit from these opportunities. Site administrators are making direct contact with families of students who have been identified to have a critical need. Categories that are being prioritized include – students with disabilities, who receive free/reduced lunch services, designated English Language Learners (ELL), and those in the care of Foster Care/Arizona Department of Child Safety.
Due to health and safety, space, and staffing considerations the number of students served must be limited. If requests for on-site support services is greater than a school’s capacity, principals will prioritize based on the level of need.
Full-time fee based childcare may be available through Community Programs. Please contact our Community Programs Director Linda Kubiak for information on childcare at 879-2032, kubiakl@vailschooldistrict.org, or www.vailkids.org.
If you have not been contacted by your site and believe your child has a critical need for services, please click HERE to join the waiting list.
