WBHS offers a College App Boot Camp prior to the start of school to provide assistance to seniors with their college applications. Administrators, school counselors, and teachers will be on hand to advise and consult students on all aspects of the process. Lunch will be served (along with unlimited coffee!) Established in 2018, Bonus Tracks is a FREE after-school program for high school students interested in learning about and creating a career pathway to the music industry. Our goal is to foster the development of the next generation of Universal Music Group executives!
We’ll cover topics like A&R, Marketing, Streaming and Content Creation; hear from guest speakers, work on a capstone project and enjoy networking opportunities to help students gain a basic understanding of the role of a modern record label in the new age of music discovery.

Sports Specific Conditioning Class for next year
Sports Specific Conditioning is a high intensity, specialized weight training class that is geared towards students that currently/actively participate in school sports or athletic teams. The class counts as a PE credit towards graduation and students receive a Pass (G) or Fail (H) grade that does not positively or negatively affect your GPA.

Seniors - Admissions Decisions - Breathe!
In anticipation of many college admissions decisions that will come out in the next several weeks, I wanted to share a few thoughts. Some of you will get the news you were hoping to hear and others will be deferred or not accepted. As I look back at my own life in terms of 'rejection or disappointment" I am reminded in everything that:
1. "NO" means "New Opportunity."
2. Often out of rejection, comes our greatest direction.
3. Everything always works out. Breathe.
4. Every time I thought I was being rejected from something, I was redirected toward something that was better!
These quotes have guided me throughout my life. I have taken many risks and in return, I have learned resiliency, determination, and fortitude. It's those "rejection" moments in life that have made me stronger. These moments teach us so much!
Good luck to all of you seniors who are still waiting to hear... just remember that your "plan" may be filled with other amazing opportunities...don't forget to trust in what life has in store! We are here to support you, so please reach out and let us know how we can help!

Scholarship Club for seniors!
Mrs. Noelle Essig, College and Career Counselor, regularly uses her expertise to provide a personalized college search experience for WBHS students. This fall, she is also using her expertise to help interested students find ways to help pay for their education. Join Mrs. Essig as she launches "Mrs. Essig's Scholarship Club,” providing time each week for students to research and work on scholarship applications. Mrs. Essig will also conduct mock interviews for students who get selected for scholarship interviews.

Seniors - MSU Alumni Scholarship

The Michigan State University Oakland Spartans offer a scholarship to incoming freshmen. The application is now open. Applications are due March 18th. Students must have a 3.5 or higher GPA in order to apply. The completed applications must be returned with the appropriate transcripts and test scores no later than March 18, 2023.
You can find information concerning the criteria that are used for selecting the scholarship recipients, as well as the important dates for the next rounds of scholarships. Also, the scholarship application is available to be downloaded.
