Thank you for your continued work and efforts to support teaching and learning at Lesslie.
Every grade level has a copy of the book The Reading Strategies Book: Your Everything Guide to Developing Skilled Readers. There will be professional development by Lisa Taylor to support the use of this book to improve reading instruction and student achievement.
Read to Succeed
The on-line R2S Course "Reading & Writing in the Content Area" begins Jan. 23 - Mar. 13th. This course is for all classroom teachers, special area teachers, exceptional student services teachers and administrators. Please register by Dec. 21st. If you have any questions, please see me or Lisa Taylor. I will send you the link as soon as I receive it.
Dr. Hodge will be here on Monday. He will be visiting some classrooms.

Monday, January 3, 2017 will be a work day. Grades are due on Monday, Jan. 3rd by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2017 will be a professional development day.
MAPS
If you have students that you would like to take Winter MAP testing, please send their name(s) to Kimenya by Tuesday, December 13th. We will be testing all Tier 2 and Tier 3 students so you don't have to submit those names.
PBIS
In an effort to maintain our RTI schedules, the celebrations for all students will be on Thursday, December 15th. This will allow special area teachers to work with their small groups as scheduled.
Positive Challenge
I know most of you have heard of and perhaps participated in the mannequin challenge. Let's take this challenge on Tuesday and see what happens. If you're already a positive person, the challenge is to not make any negative comments for one week. If you hear someone making a negative comment on Tuesday, please give them a friendly reminder.
Positive Referrals
Please submit at least one name by Friday, December 16th.

Please remember the expectations for administering running records to students.

3rd - 5th

Monthly instructional level data should be entered by the last day of each month.
