Welcome Back from Spring Break!
Welcome Back! I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! This week is a full, regular schedule week back (woo hoo)! We have Literacy Centers on Monday, Book Club on Wednesday, and Math Centers on Wednesday and Thursday.
We have a Dragon assembly on Tuesday at 8:30AM. The 5th graders will be performing patriotic songs. All Dragons should wear red, white and blue.
Mother's Day Tea
Mother's Day in Second Grade is sweet! Moms, please mark your calendars for Thursday May 5th from 8:15- 9:30 AM. More information to follow. Thank you to all of those who have gotten your photos in to me! If you have not sent me your photos yet, PLEASE do so ASAP!!!
Cinderella Stories
We are wrapping up our Cinderella Unit. The students are finishing up their typing and illustrations and I am hoping to start putting together books next week. If you and your child did not complete and return their about the author page, please do so ASAP and return it to school. I am still waiting on many of the students to bring in their fabric and cardboard as well. All of this information was on the paper that went home with homework the week prior to the last week before the break. If your child has misplaced this and you need another copy, please drop me an e-mail and I will send it with your child on Monday afternoon. Thank you!
Field Trip to Cafe Art
A permission slip and a letter went home with your child on Friday April 1st before the break. We will be going on a field trip, here in Livermore, to Cafe Art. The students are working on a special gift for the Mother's Day Tea. Please return permission slips and money as soon as possible. We do need drivers for this short field trip. Moms, if you chose to drive you just have to act surprised by your child's project at the Mother's Day Tea :)
Thank You!
Thank you all the parents who drove/chaperoned on our field trip to the Lawrence Hall of Science. The students had fun building giant shapes and exploring other exhibits. I was very proud of the students as I listened to them share what they had learned in the classroom during our shape unit with the teacher at the Lawrence Hall of Science. We really lucked out with the most beautiful weather on the day of our field trip that we enjoyed during our lunch! The view was amazing!
