January 2021 edition
Talkeetna Elementary families,
I hope your winter break was an enjoyable and relaxing time. Talkeetna Elementary staff would like to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! This is a great time to reflect and celebrate the successes that your child/ren is experiencing as well as talk with them about goals for the new year. The reflection process and realization of goals met lend to having a growth mindset and always improving.
Take advantage of the cold days to spend time playing games and reading with your children. These daily routines provide strong supports for their developmental and academic growth. Thank you for all you do. We love serving our community's families.

PE - Bring on the Snow!
In the month before winter break, students were able to hike, snowshoe, and travel by all kinds of sleds around the school grounds. We're looking forward to the beginning of the school's ski season which will start in February. Updates regarding ski season will be sent out to families in late January, and as always, I highly encourage you to come out and spend an afternoon skiing with your child and their classmates. -Mr. Sam
