Enrichment Study Group-3rd Grade

Invention Unit

Welcome to Enrichment Study Group!

I am excited to work with your student in our weekly ESG class. Enrichment Study Group is a place for us to explore learning outside the curriculum in an interdisciplinary open ended way. This is a place where students can solve problems, be creative, and work to stretch their ways of thinking and learning.

Invention Unit

In third grade ESG students will participate in a unit about Inventions. We will learn about famous inventions and inventors. We will delve into why inventions happen and debate what the most important invention has been in history. We will tinker with everyday materials to create our own small scale inventions. We will discover the process inventors must follow to get a patent and advertise their work. We will design our own Rube Goldberg chain reactions and we will create inventions to help some fairy tale characters. I hope the students will find this unit fun and interesting.
