McClatchey Messenger FOR STAFF
Week of November 26
Welcome Back!
Afternoon Cross Walk Duty-Teachers on Walker Duty
One teacher will crosswalk at Judy and Barron.--Please take a walkie talkie from Pace's office.
One teacher will crosswalk at Judy and Bryson.
Two teachers will stand at the back gate.
Please make sure you wear an orange vest and have a stop sign.
The gear will be kept in K. Pace's room for easy access.
Please be sure the kids and families use the crosswalk and not just walk across the street.
As you are walking the walkers to the back the two teachers crossing will lead the line in the front. The kids are to stay behind the crossing guards.
The other teacher will watch from the back.
The kids are not to run in front of the crossing guards, so the crossing guards can get to their posts before anyone crosses. This will be a bit of a learning curve.
Please watch what Keri and Amanda do the rest of this week.
We will start the new process on Monday.
If you have any safety questions, please ask Stacy or La-shea.
Thank You!
We have two walker teams with four people.
Walker 3 and Walker 4 could stand at gate first week.
Then, second week everyone would rotate.
MORNING DROP-OFF PROCEDURES
This could be MESSY!
The front car line causes a lot of congestion! Many kiddos are late. The four way stop is too close to letting cars enter and exit our parking lot. This causes a traffic jam.
We are going to only allow daycare and buses to drop off in the front.
All CARS will have to use the back car line to drop off.
We are not sure how this is going to go. We are going to try it for the month of December.
We may add two more cones for morning drop-off to get things moving.
The back carline does not stop. It has a continuous flow, so we are going to see if this will help at all. I will put this in the newsletter on Friday! (not all will be happy)
This is a trial! Who knows...we may have to switch back.
I am going to ask Denise to stay at the bus/daycare area to assist for the month of December.
Some parents will have to be told in person to start using the back line.
Fingers crossed!
BAC will open in January!
We hired Lee Hogue as the teacher. He is currently teaching fifth grade at Mountain Peak. He is excited to become a part of our family!
We will hire a BAC paraprofessional soon! I will let you know as soon as we do!
