Husky Happenings
March 19th - March 23rd
From Mr. Martin
On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, I was able to visit Mr. Raaf rehearsing our choir for our concert that evening. When we talk about what makes for good students and a good school, it starts with high expectations. You must set the bar high in all aspects of your school. Job well done Mr. Raaf and job well done to our TRMS students. Please see that your students takes advantage of experiences while at TRMS. I always like blunt conversations that provide for real answers. Ask your student, “Why do you go to school?” Their answers uncover the why and also what is important to them.
I just want to share how the support for our local PD and local firefighters is appreciated. The support is awesome in this community. Just in case you didn't know, we welcome firefighters and police to come enjoy a free breakfast or lunch. Our school, as well as our students, benefit from having these community members in our building.
Reminder - No School on March 9th, 2018. Spring Break March 12-16. Classes resume on Monday, March 18th.
It's starting to look a lot like Spring
Congratulations!! - Our Students do AMAZING Things!

***ATTENTION PARENTS OF INCOMING 7th GRADE STUDENTS FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR***
All 7th grade students will need their Tdap immunization to start 7th grade. It is required per Kansas law. Spring Break is a great time to get those done and beat the summer rush. Please turn in documentation to the nurse that your student has had the immunization.
HEADACHES IN CHILDREN AND TEENS: Headaches are a common complaint among students at the middle school level. These headaches can be caused by many different factors such as dehydration, lack of sleep, stress, caffeine or caffeine withdrawal, skipping meals, loud music or too much screen or TV time. Usually rest/sleep, hydrating, putting a cold cloth on the head, or eating can help manage headaches. Sometimes over the counter pain relievers may be needed. However, if your student is requiring or taking over the counter pain relievers more than twice a week for headaches, this may be a sign that you need to talk to your doctor. We like to try several non-medication options at school before distributing ibuprofen or acetaminophen if possible.
