GCISD Update
3.17.20
Important: Translate Feature
Learning@Home
During this unprecedented time, GCISD is committed to providing remote, age-appropriate opportunities using the district’s learning resources. During the week of March 16-20, the focus will be on two things: Connectivity and Learning@Home.
In order to ensure that all students have access to an electronic device, each campus will coordinate a pick-up window for a parent to come to school and retrieve a student’s device.
Additionally, we ask that all students visit the Learning@Home site to find initial resources that have been collected for the benefit of students and families. If you have specific questions about Learning@Home, please contact us at learning@gcisd.net.

Technical Support
During this time, remote technical support will be available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If you are a GCISD student or staff member who needs technical support, please submit a Help Ticket by signing into Classlink and clicking on the Help Desk button.
There is also online chat support available for students and staff. To access this feature, after you have logged into the Help Desk, click the blue chat bubble in the lower right corner. After you search for your issue, there are helpful articles available and also the Live Chat option. This chat will also be monitored 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
If you are a parent needing technical support for your student and your student does not know their login for Classlink, please call 817-251-5629. You will need to leave a message with your name, your student's name, grade level, campus and the best phone number to reach you. Your information will be forwarded to our remote support team and someone will contact you by phone as soon as possible.
JPS School-Based Health Clinic
Although the district is closed until March 27 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the JPS School-Based Health Clinic (3050 Timberline Drive, Grapevine, Texas 76051) will remain open.
If any children in your family are not feeling well, please contact the clinic for an evaluation from Nurse Grace. To make an appoint, call 817-702-485. For more information on the clinic, visit its webpage.
Governor Waives STAAR Requirements for 2019-2020
Governor Abbott has announced, in coordination with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), that he has waived the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year. Additionally, Governor Abbott has asked the Department of Education to also waive its federal testing requirements for the 2019-2020 school year.
Over the next few days, questions may arise regarding items such as TELPAS, graduation requirements and fifth and eighth-grade placement to name a few. As the Texas Education Agency works through these topics and many more, we will share the information with you when it becomes available. If you have specific questions about assessments, please contact us at assessment@gcisd.net.
