Dr. Sandra Stone's visit
International multi-age expert Dr. Sandra Stone visited Warren School earlier this week. This was her fourth visit since June 2015. After touring the classrooms, Dr. Stone commended the staff for all that has been done to build a quality multiage program. As she often says, "We teach the child, not the curriculum." The goal is for each child to always receive "just right" instruction while also engaging fully in their learning through choice and self-directed activities. Therefore, most instruction is taught in small groups. This allows teachers to get to know each child's strengths and needs in a deeper manner than ever before. When students are not engaged in teacher-directed instruction, they work at learning stations. This is where children are given choices to direct their own learning. Since Dr. Stone's visit, the excitement among the teachers has been palpable. They feel confident about what they are already doing, and excited to further refine learning stations so that they are even more student-directed moving forward.

Seeds of Dreams Seed CO
Created by the Warren School Fifth and Sixth Grade 2016
The mission of Seeds of Dreams Seed CO is to provide organic, raw, nutritional Harvest of Dreams sunflower seeds and reach out to help others in need. Through the purchase of the seed packets, our plan is to continue our support to local soup kitchens and food banks and to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) through donations raised.
This project was started and coordinated by 6th graders. All K-6 students are helping to weigh seeds and make packets.
We hope you'll support this project by purchasing seeds using this order form.
