Distance Learning at Jackson
April 20-24
Principally Speaking with Mrs. Miller
Welcome to Week 3 of Distance Learning! We hope by now you have settled into a daily routine. We have seen a great increase of students interacting with their teachers over the last couple of weeks, as students have learned how to navigate Seesaw, Schoology, teacher sites, etc. Thank you for continuing to support students in their daily learning!
This Wednesday, April 22nd, is Earth Day! Typically while at school, students would participate in lessons and activities where they can learn how to help improve the Earth. Think about an activity that you and your family could do together, to help improve the Earth, such as picking up trash on your street, planting flowers, etc. Share your activities with us! Send photos or videos to your teacher(s) and/or post photos on our JacksonD11 Facebook page. We can't wait to see all that Jackson students do to help the Earth!
I'd like to share a heartfelt "Thank You" to two absolutely, incredible Jackson staff members...Tricia Shirola and Sue Lesar. On Administrative Professionals Day (April 22), I would like to personally thank these incredible women, who not only greet every individual who walks in the front door, but also handle records, finances, answer phone calls, enroll students, support staff...the list goes on and on. Thank you ladies, for all you do to make Jackson a better place!
Please do not hesitate to communicate with your child(ren)'s teacher during their office hours or me at any time.
Stay safe, healthy, and take care of each other!
Thank you,
Sara Miller
Principal

PPLD Library Cards for All Students
Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) has given every D11 student a PPLD library card. The PPLD card gives your student access to a wealth of information and I want to make sure everyone knows what the PPLD website has to offer. This video will give you step by step directions on how to log in to your student's account and show some of my favorite places for the kids to explore.

Free Office Download
Every student and staff member has an Office 365 account and included with this account is five free Office downloads that can be used on any home computer. Office includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and is available for a Windows or Apple product. The only drawback is that this Office benefit will not be available once the student or staff member leaves Colorado Springs School District 11. Watch this video to find the steps for Downloading Office and if you have any questions, contact me at rhonda.sobecki@d11.org
