5 The Universe Nicolaus Copernicus
Greatest Accomplishments
One of the first scientists to combine math and science. He was the first astronomer to create a heliocentric cosmology that presented earth from the center of the universe. One of his accomplishments that made these all possible though was his intellectual independence. Instead of accepting the past theories and scientific information he still continued to experiment and create new theories.http://www.westerncultureglobal.org/copernicus.html
At first nicholas's theories were discarded as trash and were not right because he was not liked by the church. Later on then though people started to realize that nicholas was right and started to teach his theory of the helocentric model. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/The_impact_of_Copernicus's_descovery?#slide=8
