Socially Distant & Missing Our Students!
There are not many words for all that we are going through right now. Sheltering in place is hard. Let's just start there. During this time, the best we can do is keep modeling our resilience as we deal with these "once in a lifetime" events (fire evacuations, pandemics, floods, etc.) for our students and children. It is stressful and difficult. We know.
We are also well aware that every family situation is very different as we embark on this journey of Distance Learning. Most of us have had our schedules and routines upended and it has made any sense of normalcy difficult at best. Be patient with your student(s) and yourself!
Our teachers are considering many factors- working parents, not working, patient, stressed, a full house, a quiet house... we know this isn't easy! They will be checking in, providing lessons, and meaningful, flexible extensions of school into whatever your household might look like at this time. We do not expect our students to be sitting behind computers all day. We are all going to have triumphs and struggles throughout the coming weeks. Teamwork is the key and we appreciate that everyone doing their best.
Know that we all miss our students so much already. Maintaining connectedness and community is a huge priority for all of us. We are in the process of finalizing a district hub, a
one-stop-shop for teacher links, resources, and contact info. We will let you know as soon as it launches. Throughout this, teachers will be making plans to check in with students regularly. We value your input as well. Reach out to your child's teacher or me as needed.
We are in this together!

Tips For Setting A Schedule
- Stick to a usual routine. Take care of your personal hygiene. Put on clothes that you would for school
#2- Make A Schedule
- Follow the same schedule that you typically would on a weekday. Write it out if that helps. Give yourself short breaks.
#3- Eliminate Distractions
- Put your phone in a different room or silence it during the "school day" ex: 9am-2pm. Don't call/message your friends during this time. Turn off any messaging features & close unnecessary tabs to resist the temptation of internet surfing.
#4- Sit at a Desk or Table
- Do not lie down in your bed.
#5- Take Breaks
- Eat some healthy food, draw, read or go for a walk
