Principal Notes:
Hello RMS Families!
Attached above is the virtual meet and greet links to get to know staff and expectations. You will see pre-recorded links for individual teachers and each grade level or electives that will go live from 5-6 on Friday night to answer questions (as indicated on the bottom of the Back To School Virtual Link Form). We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
Few Things:
Schedules are available to be viewed through HAC. Counselors are still finalizing schedules, if you see an error, please email our counseling team. Their emails are attached above for the virtual meet and greets. Thanks for your patience as scheduling has been a difficult task due to the need to support physical distancing while supporting instructional options for our families.
Building Processes
4 ENTRANCE POINTS:
Entrance 1: The normal bus drop off point (Officer Harris)
Entrance 2: Back-up bus drop off (Coach Jones)
Entrance 3: Car rider entry by the Band Doors (K. Berry)
Entry 4: Front Door (Rosalyn Gilbert)
Late Arrival Entrance: Front Door (M. McGibbony & R. Gilbert)
Check In Process
Students and faculty will be scanned for temperature upon entry to the building using the two body thermometer scanners. These two scanners will be placed at Entry 1 and Entry 3. Entry 2 and entry 4 will use hand held thermometers.
Masks will need to be worn prior to entry into the building. After students enter the building, they will proceed to either the cafeteria or the gym. They will be divided by grade level. Students with temperatures over 100.4 will have their parents contacted to return home.
Lunch:
Dismissal to lunch -Teachers will escort students to the cafeteria to ensure physical distancing. Teachers will also pick up students after lunch is over.
Cafeteria seating will be at student’s discretion, maintaining physical distancing. Once the students determine their seats (by the end of the first week), they will remain in those seats for the nine weeks. Tables are labeled with A and B to indicate whether two people or three can sit at the table.
Cafeteria duty personnel are to monitor the students awaiting dismissal in the cafeteria. They are to make sure physical distancing is maintained and students exit when they are called. Dismissal from lunch will be made by teacher’s name from cafeteria duty personnel based upon room location. Wednesday- sack lunches will be placed on tables before students arrive.
Exit End of Day:
Students will be called from class for a staggered dismissal at the end of the day, beginning at 4:00. Office staff are to dismiss students by bus number and car number. These dismissals should occur thirty seconds apart to give students time to get in their vehicle without clogging hallways.
Reminders:
Please remember that we need to create a safe environment for all stakeholders, to support with this process, outside food will not be allowed to be dropped off for students. If a student forgets their lunch, they can receive a free school lunch this year.
Car rider students will receive a car rider number on the first day. That will need to be displayed in your passenger side dashboard to the pick up line to run quickly and smoothly while maintaining social distancing. Please Do Not park in the parking to pick up students.
Parents are asked to minimize in person contact with the office as much as possible. We will do our very best to take care of all matters by phone.
Schoology!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Pulaski County Special School District is now using Schoology, an integrated learning management solution that provides course management, mobile learning, and support for system-wide communication. Schoology enables our students, parents, and teachers to engage with learning materials and their school community from the classroom and beyond. We look forward to using Schoology in our classrooms starting August 24 to enhance connectivity and communication across PCSSD.
With Schoology, students can digitally submit homework assignments, review grades, participate in interactive discussions, receive announcements and feedback, take tests, write academic blogs, and more. As a parent, you will be able to view your child’s activity within the platform.
You and your child will be given a parent access code to access the Schoology system. We value your participation in your child’s education, and we encourage you to read Schoology’s Privacy Policy & Terms of Use at https://www.schoology.com/privacy. Student progress and activity will be monitored by faculty to ensure a safe, secure, and controlled environment.
Below, you will find information with instructions on how to create, log into, and use your Schoology account. If you have questions or feedback regarding Schoology, please email your child’s teacher for additional information.

Library Learning Center - Newsletter 2020
My name is Kerri Berry and I am the teacher librarian. I am a Robinson graduate, taught math at Robinson for 17 years and this is my fourth year as a librarian.
The library will look a little different this year. Unfortunately, students will not be allowed to check out books at first, so I will be promoting eBooks that we have available through platforms such as Mackin and CALS. Mackin is already available on the portal and CALS is coming soon! Reading is so important, so please encourage your student to read on a daily basis!
I will also be the contact person for any issues your student may have with chromebooks. If you have any problems with your chromebook, please fill out this Chromebook help form. We passed out insurance flyers with the chromebooks, please consider purchasing this because accidents happen and chromebook damage can be expensive. The deadline for coverage is the first of September.
