Hello Foster Families
Hello Foster's Finest Families,
It is that exciting time of year when we begin our registration for incoming Kindergarten students. This is the first step in the coming months of preparing for our next school year. Please get the registration to us as soon as possible. This will help us prepare for Kindergarten screening and staffing for the upcoming school year. Screening is one of my favorite times of the year, as it is our first opportunity to meet our incoming students!
I am excited to announce another opportunity for any incoming Foster school Kindergarten and pre-Kindergarten students: Our fantastic PTO has helped to rejuvenate our 1000 Book Club. This program will give pre-Kindergarten students the opportunity to read 1,000 books prior to the start of Kindergarten. I cannot thank the PTO enough for the work that they have put into this project. The launch information for those of you with incoming students for next year is below in the PTO portion of the newsletter.
Have a great weekend!
Mr. Scheufele

Bring a can of soup (or other non-perishable food item) for the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry to gym class between now and February 9th. Place your donation in the box of the team you want to vote for. We will count the food items and announce the winner on February 9th during the afternoon announcements.
Below is a list of items that the Food Pantry needs most:
Soup
Healthy Cereal
Canned Fruits
Mac & Cheese
Canned Tuna
Cheese Cracker snack packs.
Thank you for your support of the Food Pantry! Every donation helps!
MORE LOST AND FOUND
We are adding to our collection of clothing that has been left at school. During the week of February 5th additional Lost & Found tables will be set up . Parents and caregivers are welcome to look through the items from 8:45-2:00 each day. We hope that many of these cozy coats, snazzy sweatshirts, and marvelous mittens will be returned to their rightful owners. Due to space constraints, items that remain in the Lost & Found following dismissal on February 9th will be donated.

Kids in Action and the HPS World Language Department are committed to providing opportunities for students to learn more than one language. This survey is meant to gauge interest in two potential after-school program options.
Option 1: An after-school Spanish immersion program. This program would be suitable for children with previous Spanish immersion experience (e.g. heritage speakers, participants in the Spanish immersion pre-K program at Foster, former Su Escuela students).
Option 2: An after-school language enrichment program. This program would be suitable for children without knowledge of the second language.
If you are potentially interested in both programs, please complete this survey twice so that we can accurately measure interest in both options.
Please fill out this survey if interested in either of these options.
