In 1774, representatives from all of colonies except Georgia met to discuss the events in Boston.They called the first continental congress.The congress agreed to stop all trades with Britain, until the intolerable acts were repealed.Patrick Henry gave as speech at a church in Virginia.His goal was to convince people to prepare for war.
Intolerable acts
Passed in response to the Americans' disobedience, the coercive acts included.Upset by the Boston tea party and other blatant acts of British property by American colonist,the British parliament enacts the coercive act,to the outrage of American patriots, on this day in 1774 Boston, Massachusetts.
