Winter Sing Bake Sale
Calling all McKinley bakers and treat makers! The PTO will be hosting a bake sale during the SK-3rd Grade Winter Sing on Tuesday, 01/21. We need cookies, brownies, and treats of all kinds to sell. Items can be homemade or purchased. Please consider donating something delicious to help the PTO raise money to support PTO sponsored events. We also need people to help with setup, cleanup and sales. See the link below to signup. If you have any questions, please contact Lori Brandenburg at Crashburg@yahoo.com. Thank you!
Girls on the Run
The spring season of Girls on the Run kicks off the week of March 9th for girls in 3rd-5th grade. Girls on the Run is much more than a running program. At Girls on the Run we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Lottery registration will open on February 1st. We have traditionally had one team on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 during the 10-week season. A team is limited to 20 girls. The program has grown in popularity and we're considering opening a second team this season on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We cannot do this without the help of volunteer coaches. As a coach, you're part of a team of coaches leading the girls through the GOTR curriculum. Coaches can be male or female, 18 years or older. No running or coaching experience is required. You'll learn everything you need to know at our coach training session. As a coach, your daughter will receive a discount on the program fee and will not be subject to the lottery. If we are able to find enough coaches for a second team, we'll be able to accommodate an additional 15-20 girls at McKinley. Please contact Kristi Knoedler at kristi.knoedler@girlsontherun.org for more information. Coaches for a second team need to be finalized by Friday, January 17th.
When girls work together, they can accomplish remarkable things! As a coach for Girls on the Run, you’ll receive tools and training to lead a team of girls toward their goals and help them recognize their limitless potential.
