Mrs. Kennedy's Friday Letter
Sept. 16, 2016
Verse to share: "Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD the LORD himself is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation." Isaiah 12:2, I hope this blesses you as much as it did me!
Regarding field trip:
- Bring lunch in a labeled and disposable bag.
- Please wear school polo and tennis shoes. Children may choose to wear jeans.
-Children need to ride the bus so we can all stay together. Parents may choose to ride the bus or drive - maybe carpool?
A peek into our week
Parts of speech - We are continuing to work on learning the different parts of speech and are working on a class poem that helps us learn/review Nouns, Adjectives, Verbs, and Adverbs. Next week the kids will write their own poems.
Math - Math Talks continue to be a favorite part of Math for me. This week several of the kids came to the board and modeled different ways to solve 2 digit addition problems. I love to see how their brains work! Our Math Journals are also a good way to show this. We finished up on our Comparing and Ordering Numbers unit.
Bible - Didn't you just love their Memory Verse posters? They turned out so great that Mrs. Sarah decided to laminate them for us! We were busy reading and highlighting in our Bibles and loved learning more about Kindness.
Soc. Studies - They are doing great learning about the 3 Branches of Government. We are almost finished with our Flip Books.
